Assistant Director of Housing Assets
AD1-5: £78,038 to £88,443

Waltham Forest is a borough of opportunity and ambition. Our aim is to ensure that each and every one of our residents enjoys a high quality life in a great place to live.

Over the past few years, Waltham Forest has changed as a place. Good schools, great parks, excellent culture facilities, major regeneration, and community entrepreneurship are making it a place that people want to call home.

Housing is high on the Council’s agenda and to reflect this, the Housing Service recently joined the Families Directorate to ensure families are supported to be more resilient and services are joined up. The Council sees a strong link between housing, health and social care as well as physical regeneration and is looking for the right people who share this vision.

In the midst of a London-wide housing crisis, Waltham Forest has ambitious plans to build 12,000 new, high-quality homes by 2020. The Council is pushing for the highest design standards and for these homes to be supported by the services and infrastructure that residents need to enjoy a good quality of life.

Reporting directly to the Director of Housing, you will help drive the development and delivery of the Council’s housing property services to secure excellent value for money services that residents value.

You will undertake effective procurement planning, deliver major capital programmes and planned maintenance programmes, ensure full health and safety compliance, and act as the client lead for our Housing Repairs and Maintenance services, achieving the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

You will also act as our strategic lead for asset remodelling, including housing estate regeneration, and you will be responsible for our Council new build programme as well as supporting the work of our new Development Company, Waltham Forest Developments Ltd.

You will have a strong track record in delivery, sound commercial and clienting skills, and strong interpersonal skills with a people focus.
