Having modernised and completed our refinancing exercise we now want to appoint an experienced and driven individual who can further our growth and diversification ambitions. Therefore, it is an ideal time to join Arcon’s Board. As one of our Board members, you will play a key role in shaping the direction and growth plans. To help deliver on these aspirations, we have over the last year been modernising and gearing up to enable us to grow and diversify our operations, forging new alliances and working collaboratively with like-minded organisations.
Recognising there is much we can learn and do with the support of others we are members of the Greater Manchester Providers Group, which is focusing on the development of a housing offer as part of the devolution agenda. We have also signed up to Placeshapers, a national group of community based housing organisations and are active partners in the Community Housing Associations (North West) Group. As part of our drive to be a more progressive Group, we are now looking to strengthen our Board and attract two new members who will to complement our existing membership.
We are looking for committed individuals who can buy into our strong sense of social purpose and bring specific skills to the Arcon Board. We would like to recruit an individual with strong financial skills ideally with experience within the Social Housing sector. Also, a further member ideally with a Social Enterprise background and with a strong commitment to the delivery of high quality customer services. Candidates will need to have an understanding of good governance and a strategic perspective. Local or regional knowledge would be an advantage but is not essential.
