Strategic Asset Manager

With over 121 care homes and 800 housing locations across the country, Anchor is Englands largest non - for profit organisation, we have a great opportunity for an experienced Asset Manager to join us. You will be responsible for the delivery of Anchors Asset Management Strategy and planned maintenance work programmes.

You will be leading the approach to continued viability of the Anchor estate and stock asset portfolio through the operational delivery of the AMS.

Reporting into the Head of Asset Management and Compliance, responsibilities will include:

Effectively co-ordinate a holistic approach for Anchor's land and property portfolio including programmes for ongoing investment, valuations, rent/lease reviews etc.; in line with the corporate business plan objectives.

Develop, review and update Anchor's home offers and cost envelopes for Care, Housing and Leasehold using appropriate business wide consultation and costing mechanisms.

Ensure Anchor's estate is financially viable through on-going evaluation of location/home performance through to targeted investment and/or appropriate disposal/land re-use etc. 

Develop and maintain 5-year investment plans.

Ensure timely production and distribution of annual or longer investment programmes for delivery by the regional delivery teams.

Ensure co-ordination of updating programme completion or deferral progress.

Undertake and input to merger, acquisition and disposal due diligence tasks.

Key stakeholder and contributor to the Asset Management Group and servicing of the meetings.

Protect Anchor's interest with regard to buying, selling and negotiation of properties and leases with regard to both buildings and the wider estate.

Ensure Anchor collects and maintains comprehensive and detailed stock condition and compliance inspection data.

Represent Anchor in any statutory, regulatory or private stakeholder interest or enquiries in Anchor's buildings or estate.

  • Strong understanding of Asset Performance Modelling
  • Problem solving and initiative
  • MS Office applications, in particular, Word, Excel, Power point.
  • Project management and ability to fully utilise MS Project or similar


RICS/CIOB and/or equivalent and demonstrable professional experience with a relevant and recognised/affiliated degree.
