When asra Housing Group and Paragon Community Housing joined together in April 2017 to form PA Housing we knew immediately it was a great match, sharing many of the same ideas, values and principles.

We’re stronger together with a combined workforce of 650 people and over 24,000 homes across the East Midlands, London and South East offering a range of housing solutions from affordable rent, independent living and shared ownership for those in need.  Our increased financial strength means we are able to build around 350 additional new homes each year.

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work as an integral part of a dedicated Assets team. The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive surveying resource for the Assets and Co-ops Department, covering all aspects of Responsive Repairs, Major, Planned and Voids maintenance.

PA Housing is the managing agent for community based Co-operatives in Leicester which  are run entirely by and for their tenant members.  Tenant members own and manage their housing collectively - so they are effectively their own landlord.  This gives them a high level of control over their homes and their neighbourhood.  We supply services like applicant interviews, housing allocations, repairs, maintenance, cleaning, rent collection, development and legal advice.

You will be:

Able to demonstrate that you are customer focused with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships;

Demonstrate that you can work with minimum supervision; planning  and prioritising your own workload and the workload of others;

Able to work on your own initiative whilst maintaining a team ethos.

Within this role you will be responsible for inspecting housing stock and building works with a view to preparing specifications and compiling tender / contract documentation to delivery repair and void works; working within authorised budgets and to agreed quality standards, ensuring contractors and suppliers perform to specification and contractual terms. You will also be expected to manage insurance claims related to properties, limit risk to the organisation through working knowledge of legislation risk management and specify, authorise and manage works to completion, carrying out pre and post inspections.

The successful candidate will be a strong team player who puts customers first, will be qualified to a HNC standard (or equivalent) as a minimum and will have a positive 'can do' attitude. You will be highly organised with a passion for service excellence and continuous improvement and will be a strong communicator who is confident when liaising with people at all levels. Being capable of working to deadlines is essential as is having knowledge of housing maintenance, repair specifications, diagnosing defects and remedial works. You will ideally also have strong knowledge of social housing management and of housing / property management systems (Northgate or similar). You must have a valid driving licence and daily access to a car for business use.

We recognise that people are at the heart of our business and that success is dependant on enthusiastic and committed colleagues.  We make sure they feel supported and encourage a culture of opportunity and learning to enable colleagues to fulfil their potential and make a real difference to peoples lives every day.
