Appointment of an  Independent Member to a Regulatory Board for Wales

The post of Independent Member will be paid at £198 per day.

The purpose of the Regulatory Board for Wales (RBW) is to examine the regulatory performance and activity of the Welsh Government and the housing sector, by considering annual reports and guidance from the Regulator, and other publications on the performance of the sector. The RBW will use that information to advise the Minister on the performance of the regulator, the sector and any related policy implications and therefore on any changes required to the Regulatory Framework for Housing Associations in Wales.

The Independent Member will have;

  • ability to monitor, report and advise on the performance of Housing Associations in Wales and how the Welsh Government regulatory function can be improved. 
  • knowledge of housing provision, housing policy or housing Finance and an understanding of regulation and the non profit housing association sector. 
  • an understanding of the political and policy framework and the ability to frame policy advice and guidance to Ministers and civil servants

The Independent Member is expected to spend at least 2 days per quarter on RBW business. Meetings are held in location across Wales.

  • gwybodaeth am darparu tai, polisi tai neu gyllid tai a dealltwriaeth o reoleiddio a'r sector cymdeithasau tai dielw
  • dealltwriaeth o’r fframwaith gwleidyddol a pholisi a’r gallu i lunio cyngor a chyfarwyddyd ar bolisi i Weinidogion a gweision sifil.

Bydd disgwyl i’r Aelod Annibynnol dreulio o leiaf  2 ddiwrnod y chwarter ar fusnes y Bwrdd. Cynhelir cyfarfodydd yn lleoliadau ledled Cymru.

Polisi Llywodraeth Cymru yw hyrwyddo ac integreiddio cyfle cyfartal ym mhob agwedd ar ei busnes gan gynnwys penodiadau i gyrff cyhoeddus. Mae’n croesawu ac yn annog ceisiadau gan grwpiau sydd ar hyn o bryd wedi’u tangynrychioli, gan gynnwys menywod, cymunedau ethnig lleiafrifol a phobl ag anabledd.
