Hartrigg Oaks is a retirement community aimed at promoting good health and wellbeing in a socially stimulating environment. It consists of 152 bungalows, a 42 bed registered care/ nursing home, an extra care provision and an extensive range of communal facilities, including a restaurant, coffee shop and heath activity centre. It is home to around 250 residents.

About the role:

The role of General Manager will provide and develop a high quality local environment in which all residents and visitors feel valued, safe and supported. You will coordinate the various functions and departments to provide a cohesive service, ensuring good quality service delivery in a timely fashion. You will streamline decision making, provide informed advice on the legal requirements and provide a central point of contact for both residents and staff.

The General Manager will also have full oversight and control of operational budgets and will be part of providing residents with increased transparency on finances. You will also work with the residents to recommend business plans with a view to improving the finances of the scheme.

If you are interested in this new and exciting role you must have a strong track record in managing and delivering high quality support services to customers, ideally in a housing, care or hospitality setting though this is not essential. Experience of leading teams, managing budgets and supplier relationships are important and you will possess excellent communication skills as well as proficiency in building and maintaining effective working relationships. It is essential that you possess a relevant qualification in Property Law e.g. LLB or property management e.g. MCIH or RICS.

You will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check for this role.
