Senior Application Support Specialist


£40,209 per annum (rising to £43,945 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)

35 hours per week

Joining our head office Information Systems team the Senior Application Support Specialist will manage a team and ensure the delivery of an efficient, cost effective application support services.

The role of Senior Application Support Specialist will include –

  • Co-ordinating the development and day to day application support operations
  • Managing and delivering service improvements
  • Supporting the delivery of new applications and integrating existing applications ensuring effective appraisal of new technologies and their suitability
  • Developing the provision of IS Service Desk services to identify and rectify immediate and longer term customer requirements
  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with key stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Manage the effective resolution of technical application problems to ensure the delivery of business applications and improvements
  • Manage the recruitment, performance management and development of quality staff within the team

Skills and experiences –

  • BSC Software Testing Foundation Level, ITIL Foundation Certificate  and Prince 2 Foundation Certificate or knowledge and experience at the equivalent level are essential
  • Proven experience supporting applications in a large organisation, designing improvements to application services and resolving application infrastructure issues
  • Prior experience managing a team
  • Ability to extract and interpret data
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
