Service Manager - Housing Options (Homelessness and Allocations)

Salary Range - up to £60,374 (pay award pending)

Work Location - Appletree Court, Lyndhurst

Hours per week - 37

Contract Type - Permanent


We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated professional to manage our Housing Options Team and to deliver innovative solutions in response to the current ever-increasing homelessness situation.

We want to transform ourselves from a homelessness assessment service into a service focusing on preventing homelessness with greater emphasis on multi-agency working to bring about meaningful solutions for homeless people. You will have a thorough knowledge of both homelessness and allocations legislation and the management skills to lead a team through change to modernise work practices, policies and procedures.

You will have exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, sound judgement and the necessary drive to implement a proactive approach to help those in need. You must also be able to think strategically and have excellent communication skills in order to work with a wide variety of people, including councillors and multi-agency partners.

You will lead the Council in its objective to achieve the Gold Standard Programme for Homelessness ensuring that the Council’s response to homelessness is effective and efficient.
