Working in conjunction with our partnering contractors we deliver a highly efficient, effective and compliant service to tenants, residents and stakeholders. We carry out responsive repairs, cyclical and planned maintenance and various minor works schemes on 5,500 homes across south Wiltshire.

About the role

As contract surveyor, you will manage a budget of £1.5 - £3m, and have full responsibility for the delivery of all technical and commercial aspects of projects to improve our built environment through our continued capital investment.

You will work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver planned improvements to the housing stock and other hard and soft assets within our portfolio. To provide appropriate professional support and advice in terms of the requirement for new build properties, building adaptations, facilities management, as well as commissioning and managing contractors and internal operational delivery teams.

About you

You will need proven experience with delivering capital and revenue planned renewals programmes, building repairs, maintenance and working within social housing, contract management, construction or project management environment.

Excellent communication skills are required, along with proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, tenants, consultants and internal colleagues.

You will have excellent ICT skills including use of Microsoft applications, asset management and asset data systems, as well as having good knowledge of CDM, health and safety legislation and have a building surveying, project management or facilities management background.

You must hold a minimum of level 4 HND/HNC in building construction, surveying or mechanical/electrical equivalent, however a degree in the built environment (surveying or engineering discipline) would be desirable.
