Chiltern and South Bucks District Councils have successfully embraced the challenges of modern government through taking a progressive partnership approach to offering services. We are proud of what we have achieved through our joint working and we are passionate about delivering excellent services to our customers every day and meeting the needs of our local communities.

Our staff survey results consistently tell us that our employees think this is a great place to work and that they are proud to work for the Councils. An Investor in People (IiP) Assessor commented that, "staff are incredibly positive about their work for the Council, committed to its success and have a high level of satisfaction".

Chiltern and South Bucks districts have some of the highest housing costs in the country. Both Councils are committed to securing more local affordable homes. We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable person to lead our work on delivering affordable housing opportunities across the two districts. You will have a pro-active and innovative approach to identifying, supporting and delivering opportunities to provide affordable housing. Your project management skills will allow you to lead and support a range of projects to deliver more affordable housing provision for local residents. With an extensive knowledge of housing policy and finance, development economics, the social housing sector and planning you will have the ability to evaluate complex information and provide clear analysis and guidance on issues and options to Members, colleagues and others. You will work closely with colleagues within the Council’s Housing, Estates, Planning and Legal teams and your excellent communication and negotiation skills will mean that you build strong working relationships with Registered Providers, housing developers and other stakeholders. A positive and practical approach will be essential to delivering this role in a challenging and changing environment.
