Trafford Borough is Greater Manchester’s most vibrant economy and is a place where people want to live due to our range of housing, great schools, transport links and quality of life.

We are an economic powerhouse but do recognise that we face a number of challenges and preventing homelessness is one of them. The new Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 has changed the way in which local authorities deal with homeless applications and in Trafford, our Housing and Homelessness Service (HOST) is delivered by Salix Homes.

This new role is key to ensure our statutory obligations are being met, and high quality services are being delivered, through the effective monitoring of the HOST contract. This role will also support the development and delivery of a number of housing and homelessness strategies and policies.

We want someone with experience in delivering homeless services and/or a working knowledge of housing strategy development. Drive, determination and excellent relationship skills are also important so if you think you have what we’re looking for and meet the person specification then please apply.

Our working environment at Trafford Town Hall is exceptional. We have a total reward package available including: local government pension scheme; car lease scheme; generous annual leave scheme; option to buy back additional annual leave; flexi-time; agile working; employee recognition awards; celebrating success scheme and a comprehensive health and wellbeing strategy.

The Council’s modern, open plan offices are located less than 10 minutes from Manchester City Centre, close to Old Trafford Metrolink Station. The popular residential areas of Altrincham, Sale, Chorlton and Didsbury are within 15 minutes travel time.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Stephen James, Head of Strategic Planning on 0161 912 4330 or Caroline Abbott, Housing Strategy & Growth Manager on 0161 912 5776.

Application closing date:  Sunday 24th Junes 2018 @ 23.59
