Would you like to join the expanding executive team in one of the Sunday Times Top 100 places to work? If so, this is an excellent opportunity to join WWH, an award winning organisation that truly lives and breathes its values, creating an enviable organisation culture that genuinely empowers people to succeed and make a difference.

The Opportunity

We offer an exceptional opportunity to join a highly successful housing provider operating across Wales as the Director of Development. A new post, part of the Executive team, charged with delivering a significant new build programme and taking forward an ambitious multi-tenure growth strategy. The role has overall responsibility for the strategic planning and direction of the Group’s Development Strategy for new homes. It is a challenging role, in that our property portfolio covers an extensive geographical area, including 15 local authorities across Wales. We have an exciting agenda for new development, with an aspiration to deliver more.

The Organisation

We are one of the leading housing providers in Wales; providing affordable homes and services to more than 22,000 residents in 12,000 properties across Wales. We employ over 400 staff at WWH and 220 staff in our subsidiaries, making us a major Welsh employer. We formed a group company in 2011, to include Cambria Maintenance Ltd and Castell Ventures Ltd. As an organisation we adopt a systems thinking approach to the way we manage and deliver our services across the Group; it underpins the way in which we operate.

We are also ranked the top Welsh not-for-profit organisation in the 2018 Sunday Times Best Companies list and ranked the 4th in the top 100 in the whole of the UK. We are also very proud to be the first organisation in Wales to be awarded Platinum status in the new Investors in People (IiP) standard.

The Candidate

As an experienced senior manager, operating at a strategic level, you will be able to demonstrate strong leadership and bring with you considerable experience and knowledge, ideally having worked within a commercially focussed new build housing organisation. You will contribute to the vision and strategic direction of not only the development function, but also help embed the Group-wide culture of doing what matters to our residents, staff and stakeholders and doing the right thing for our properties/assets.

The ability to build strong, long term mutually beneficial business relationships with stakeholders is critical to this role as well as keeping your finger on the pulse and gaining an insightful knowledge of new and/or potential development opportunities across Wales. You will demonstrate a passion to shape and deliver not only against our strategic aims, but represent us in supporting Welsh Government’s agenda in the provision of new homes for the people across the communities of Wales.
