Head of Finance
This is a new role within our Finance Team reporting to the Director of Finance. The post holder will deputise for the Director of Finance and lead on the financial planning, treasury and risk management for the organisation. This includes ensuring that all financial information is provided to the business units to inform their strategic and operational decisions. The post holder will oversee the day to day finance function including the income collection for the organisation, and to ensure that all regulatory and statutory financial compliance requirements are met.
Ideally, we are looking for a person with previous experience in a similar role and who will bring energy, passion and commitment to this position. An understanding of the social housing/charity sector and a commercial approach would be advantageous.
Duties will includes the preparation of annual reports and monthly accounts; Financial analysis and costing of products and services; Oversee the effectiveness of our accounting systems and processes; Ensure that our financial transactions are recorded and reported accurately to our stakeholders; conduct financial analysis and prepare supporting documentation; lead and manage a team of finance staff and take a lead role in the budgeting process. This position will contribute to the overall business performance and success of YMCA North London. This includes the achievement of good cross-business collaboration.
Applicants should hold an appropriate professional accounting qualification i.e. CIMA or ACCA; possess significant experience in a similar Finance role at a similar level of seniority/responsibility; possess advanced Excel and Accounting software skills; strong leadership skills in line management and development of finance staff; and good communication and inter-departmental relationship management skills.
