Housing & Property Officer

Reporting to the Housing Services Manager

35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary £26,000 p.a., reviewed annually

 

The Finchley Charities has a proud history of over 500 years in the borough of Barnet.

We provide high quality housing for older people in the area of East Finchley with 172 purpose built homes. Though our history is long we are a future-focused charity and, through our grants programme and allotments, have the resources and drive to make a real difference to the community.

We are going through an exciting period of growth and change and are looking for an experienced and solution-focused housing professional who is a great communicator and committed to providing high quality customer care.

You will:

  • Be able to provide an effective and responsive housing and property management service across all our properties.
  • Be able to develop working relationships with stakeholders, contractors, residents and prospective residents.
  • Have demonstrable knowledge of lettings and allocations, rent collection and arrears management along with an understanding of the legal and regulatory context in which The Finchley Charities operates.
  • Have experience of coordinating day-to-day maintenance and repairs along with effective planned maintenance.
  • Have experience / knowledge of the issues facing older people living in sheltered housing.

Successful candidates will be required to complete an enhanced DBS.
