Housing association / RP

Established in 1911, Howard Cottage is one of the world’s first housing associations. Today, we have an annual turnover of £10m and a portfolio of 1,600 homes, comprising general needs rental accommodation, sheltered housing and shared ownership properties. Our aim is to build high-quality, environmentally sustainable new houses when and where they are needed most, with an average of 70 new properties per year.

Our commitment to quality is also reflected in our organisation: we are currently undergoing an extensive programme of change which has seen us refocus and restructure our operations as we strive for greater success. As Head of Asset Delivery, you will lead and manage the delivery of all maintenance, statutory compliance, planned improvement programmes and estate maintenance, through a combined in-house and sub-contractor supply chain. With customer satisfaction and value-for-money guiding everything you do, you will drive the continuous improvement of our core strategies, policies, processes and systems to ensure that we are able to consistently deliver reliable, compliant service to our residents.

We are looking for somebody with at least five years’ experience of delivering effective, commercially-oriented programmes of change in an asset management, housing or related field. With a degree-level qualification, or comparable professional experience, you will boast a detailed understanding of landlord compliance systems, business assurance and risk management and be able to extract and analyse complex data from systems to solve problems, report existing performance and forecast future performance. Financially astute, strategic and analytical, you must also be skilled at interpreting complex financial information, managing substantial budgets, and pinpointing and understanding cost drivers in order to focus business improvement on what matters most.
