Are you passionate about making a difference in communities?

We have a rare opportunity for a Head of Community Investment with a passion for empowering and supporting communities to join our diverse and dedicated Community Investment team.  With an understanding of, and compassion for, the challenges faced by people experiencing hardship, you will be part of a UK-wide network, managing charitable grants which make a difference to the lives of thousands of people who are housed and supported by Sanctuary.

At Sanctuary Group we know that building strong communities is as important as providing a home. Sanctuary works to support local people and community groups in England and Scotland to develop the services and facilities essential to creating thriving neighbourhoods. Your role will oversee community investment and employee volunteering across the UK, to enhance the lives of people that we house and support.  This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including Sanctuary Housing’s Neighbourhoods Team, to develop, manage and evaluate community initiatives, ensuring that Sanctuary Group’s Community Investment Fund is guided towards the communities where we operate.

Who we are looking for:

  • Experience of working with charities and community groups in a Community Investment / Community Development / Corporate Social Responsibility role
  • A clear understanding of and compassion for the challenges commonly faced by people who live in social housing and supported living accommodation
  • A confident communicator, adept at building and maintaining positive and productive relationships and partnerships
  • Practised in negotiating, influencing and project management
  • Track record of managing budgets, producing accurate and detailed reports, both quantitative and qualitative
  • Experienced line manager with an interest in developing staff and embedding a positive team working culture
  • Due the nature of this role, a full UK driving licence is desirable (or the ability to travel the UK frequently)

Ready to join us?

As part of our commitment to making Sanctuary a great place to work, we offer you access to a range of great employee benefits and the opportunity to develop and progress within your career. Benefits include:

  • A pension scheme, with matching employer contributions from Sanctuary up to set limits
  • 25 days leave (rising to a maximum of 30 days) plus public holidays (pro rata)
  • Life assurance
  • Health & well-being plans
  • Discounted products & services
  • Personal advice and counselling
  • Family-friendly arrangements
  • Tax efficient benefits
  • Learning and development opportunities
