Role Description

This is an opportunity to work as part of the newly established Service Delivery Unit, coordinating the strategic direction of the Housing and Regeneration service. You will lead on the development of the Council’s strategies, plans and policy in relation to Housing and Regeneration as well as developing the council’s housing enabling function and implementing a strategic commissioning framework.

Key Duties

  • Develop and implement plans to maximise the supply of affordable housing through effective partnership working
  • Develop the Councils strategic housing enabling function
  • Lead on the commissioning of services and projects that align with corporate objectives and support the delivery of Housing and Regeneration services
  • Lead on the development, implementation and review of policies, plans and strategies
  • Manage staff within the service, allocating and prioritising work as appropriate

Experience and skills required

  • Proven experience of strategy and policy development
  • Proven experience of commissioning and procurement
  • A good understanding of the social housing sector, including housing development
  • Experience of project management
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer focused approach
