It’s all about working with our residents.

Making a better place.

Hammersmith & Fulham is one of the most popular boroughs in the city. We want to ensure it’s a place that’s safe, clean and green. At the Council, we care deeply about delivering high-quality services to all our residents and putting them at the heart of the process. To help it stay that way, we need ambitious people who are ready to get involved in our latest programme of work.

Working closely with the AD of Operations, the Head of Contract Governance will have strategic oversight of all client activity for Growth and Place. This includes contract management, tendering and procurement. You’ll also lead as head of practice for client management across the directorate, with a ‘dotted line’ to embedded contract managers and officers within service areas. Here, you’ll seek out, share and model best practice in client and contract management. One of your key objectives will also include delivering increased value for money from contractors. You’ll do this by working collaboratively and commercially, and ensure that the Council demonstrates good governance in its supplier relationships.

To join us, you’ll need a relevant degree or equivalent professional experience. While not essential, a qualification in a discipline such as procurement, contract management and valuation, housing or programme and project management will help. We recognise that this is a diverse role. Which is why you could come with experience from a variety of areas including social housing, strategy development, service improvement, senior stakeholder management, or data management and business intelligence. That way, you’ll help us achieve our ambitions of creating an even better borough for our residents.

This is an opportunity to rise to the challenge and develop your career by continuing to make Hammersmith & Fulham a better place. Apply now.
