Redditch Borough Council has an opportunity for a conscientious and hardworking individual to play a key role as a Housing Options Team Leader in the Housing Options Team.

You will be leading a team of Housing Options Officers to ensure resources are allocated effectively, carry out appraisals and monitor closely the performance of the team in order to achieve and sustain agreed objectives and outcomes in relation to housing advice, homelessness and housing related support.

The role requires a working knowledge of housing options legislation and practice, and the ability to interpret legislation into understandable guidelines. However, with the recent introduction of the Homelessness Reduction Act we need someone who can contribute to innovative and creative policies, strategies and processes.

If you are looking for a new opportunity where every day brings a different challenge, you enjoy working with people, and feel you have good leadership skills to successfully develop a strong team, then this could be the opportunity for you. If you want to be part of our team we need you to:

  • Have a track record of leading and developing a team
  • Be committed to delivering a quality housing options service
  • Have strong decision making skills

This is an exciting time within the housing options sector following the introduction of the Homelessness Reduction Act in April 2018. The post holder will have the opportunity to help us further develop and shape our service.

The post holder will have access to the PSN connected network.  As such there is a Cabinet Office requirement to be validated to the Baseline Security Standard (BPSS).  The BPSS is the minimum standard to ensure the identity and integrity of an employee who has access to official information.  This includes identity check, national and immigration status, employment history (3 years) and verification of criminal record (unspent convictions only).  Therefore, a basic Scottish Disclosure is needed for this post.

The closing date for receipt of completed applications is Monday 28 January 2019. Interviews will be held week commencing 4 February 2019.
