We're recruiting for a Litigation Lawyer and are looking for exceptional people to apply.

Reporting to the Senior Litigation Lawyer, you'll be responsible for providing high quality legal advice and representation on complex litigation and other legal matters to Clarion Housing Group, in particular in housing management and leasehold litigation such as ASB cases, disrepair claims, possessions, leasehold management, service charges, and debt recovery.

You'll be required to support the development of our in-house legal provision, ensuring that legal work is carried out internally where this is more cost effective and that communication between instructing officers and the litigation team is effective and efficient.

Where required, you'll also assist in the provision of training to officers across the Group on housing litigation and other matters to develop the skills of officers across the Group

You'll be required to travel to other offices as required.

Your other responsibilities will include:

  • Keeping abreast of the constitutional, legal and regulatory framework within which Housing Associations operate and ensuring that such knowledge is disseminated to encourage a knowledgeable and compliance focussed culture.
  • Supporting the paralegals and legal support officers within the litigation team.

We'll require you to have significant experience as a qualified solicitor or barrister in all types of housing litigation and experience of advocacy in courts and tribunals.An excellent verbal and written communicator, you'll be adept at presenting information in a variety of forms to a high standard.

Ideally, you'll have experience of working in a housing association, public sector body or other housing environment and of working within a Lexcel accredited (or similar quality standard) environment.
