Longhurst Group is one of the UK’s top 10 leading housing providers, providing more than 22,500 homes across the Midlands and the East of England.

Passionate about delivering the best possible homes, services and care and support, the organisation has ambitious plans for the future and is constantly looking to grow.

Everything we do is about helping people, enhancing their wellbeing and improving their lives. This is an exciting opportunity for a versatile and innovative communicator to help us tell our compelling story.

The role:

We are looking for a creative and talented storyteller, well versed in newsgathering and spotting opportunities, who will help raise our profile and support the delivery of our communications strategy.

Possessing excellent copywriting skills allied with a keen eye for detail, you will also be passionate about using innovative and effective ways to communicate key messages to different audiences.

You will be joining a talented and inventive team, working together to take the organisation’s communications to the next level and enhance the Group’s reputation, brand and profile.

The person:

We are looking for a passionate communicator who is able to deliver impactful and engaging communications that promote the organisation accurately and effectively.

The ideal person will possess a blend of creativity and versatility, underpinned by the fundamentals of excellent verbal and written communications skills.

You will be able to identify and write external PR stories and have the ability to produce and provide content for videos and presentations.

You will also be a stringent proof-reader and decisive editor who is a keen advocate of our writing guidelines and understands the critical importance of the consistent use of the Group’s brand.

Above all, you will be enthusiastic, approachable and adaptable, keen to embrace working within a values based culture and to ensure top-quality communication is at the centre of everything the organisation does.

The offer

In return, you will join an organisation passionate about providing a great place to work, committed to investing in your future and delivering plenty of opportunity for you to grow.

As well as a competitive salary, our wide range of benefits include childcare vouchers and pension contributions.

This role has the option to be based from Birmingham, Boston (Lincolnshire), Nottingham, Peterborough or Rushden (Northamptonshire), with travel to offices across the Midlands.
