bpha is a dynamic and ambitious 18,000 unit Housing Association based in Bedford and operating throughout the Oxford to Cambridge growth corridor. The organisation employs 400 people, has an annual turnover in excess of £120m and a development programme that will see it build around 3,000 new homes over the next five years.

We are currently seeking a Housing Officer to work from our head office in Bedford.  The role will provide cover to our existing team and will provide floating tenancy and neighbourhood management services covering properties from Cambridge to Oxford.

You will be responsible for ensuring that tenancies are managed appropriately according to the circumstances of the household, making referrals and signposting for support as necessary; regularly reviewing tenants circumstances, making recommendations with regards to future housing options and advising tenants of options, enabling them to make informed choices at the end of their tenancies. The successful candidate will have worked within a similar housing or neighbourhood role previously and will be knowledgeable about housing legislation. You’ll have experience of dealing with people in difficult, often stressful, situations and you’ll ideally have some knowledge of debt management.  Experience of lone working would be advantageous and you must have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.

If you’re committed to providing a customer focused service, can influence and negotiate and deal with confrontation in a calm and professional manner then we’d love to hear from you.

In return we offer a competitive salary, 28 days annual holiday (plus bank holidays) increasing with service, contributory pension, life assurance, medical cover, lifestyle rewards, car allowance and a home working payment.

Closing date: 20 February 2019

Interviews will be held on: 28 February and 1 March 2019
