We require an Assistant Data Quality Analyst to work within the Data Quality team at Peabody, helping us explore our data quality and deliver insights that help us lead the sector in providing housing and care.

  • Location – South London, Queen Elizabeth Street and Westminster Bridge Road
  • Salary - £24-27,000 (depending on experience and skill level) + excellent corporate benefits such as pension, 30 days of paid holidays, and opportunities to develop your skills further


What will you do?
 

You will:

  • Retrieve, clean, explore, analyse, and report data
  • Daily, move between Microsoft Excel and other data tools to analyse and present data about data
  • Use a corporate intranet and Office 365, especially Sharepoint, PowerApps, Flows™, Visio, and Outlook, to communicate with Data Stewards and (sometimes) all employees
  • Eventually, you will also use data analysis tools to analyse the quality of data and report on changes in the same
  • Conduct data analysis in a rigorous and repeatable manner and communicate insights effectively to colleagues across the company (and sometimes much further afield)
  • Assist in leading meetings, “data cleaning hackathons,” and agile work-groups that conquer data quality problems

The challenges for success in this role are:

  • Understanding the different sources of data we have and how they can be used efficiently and effectively for helpful insights
  • Developing new ways of working and testing new systems for effectiveness
  • Delivering numerous reports quickly and in a timely manner, with deadlines and competing demands all around
  • Learning how to use many, new tools as we support a company with many types of work
  • Being a team player with team members spread across London and the Southeast of England.

The Person: 

  1. Has an ability to work under pressure
  2. enjoys working collaboratively
  3. learns constantly
  4. is interested in the processes required to support a successful third sector organisation
  5. is highly proficient in Excel
  6. is familiar with and has interest in Office365 tools
  7. has some experience analysing data, and understands how to analyse data about data
  8. is familiar with reporting and research issues implicated in data quality
  9. understands when statistical analysis is required
  10. has experience using statistics
  11. is curious and analytical
  12. is good at creating simple data visualisations
  13. is a creative and confident communicator -  can tell an engaging story that explains challenging concepts
  14. possibly, has a background in science, social science, data science, tech, or research, and
  15. definitely, has thought about implications of data quality for the use of evidence
  16. is confident working with others and talking about statistics and data with variously interested crowds
  17. is educated to degree level with at least some mathematics or statistics and some background in scientific methods
  18. has ideas about how to make the world a better place for everyone
  19. wants a career in Data Analysis, Operational Research, Data Culture Management or related fields.

A DBS check will be required for this role
