Job Details
Onward Repairs (a subsidiary of Onward Homes) have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Gas Engineer to assist in the delivery of gas servicing, installations and breakdown repairs in line with all group standards and key performance indicators, ensuring high standards are consistently met together with observing all legal, statutory and regulatory requirements while undertaking repair activities within customer homes, voids and for other clients as required.
In line with Repairs specification or approved best practice you will assess, co-ordinate and undertake the most cost effective repair solution ensuring value for money. You will organise repair materials, providing detailed information, effectively communicating with customers, other stakeholders and colleagues to deliver a high quality service. You will also ensure adequate store of materials are available and maintained, including van based stock, in order to undertake the required repair.
As part of the role you will provide an Out Of Hours repairs service on a rota basis, for which you will receive additional remuneration in addition to your salary.
You will be have experience of gas systems and working within a commercial or property maintenance environment.
You will be qualified to City and Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in a recognised gas trade qualification. You will also be qualified to work with central heating, water heaters, cookers, pipe work and unvented hot water (formally ACOPS 1-14). You will also a qualified Gas Safe Engineer (CCN1)
You will have sound knowledge of health and safety regulations, regulation and ACOPS relevant to the post and associated tasks undertaken within it, in line with HASAWA 1974.
Experience of working in a customer focused service is essential and experience of using PDA technology (hand held / mobile working technology) would be useful, although training will be provided.
A full UK manual driving license is essential for this post.
