About the post

Are you a driven and proactive media officer with experience in media relations, planning, delivering and evaluating PR projects, media relationship building and selling in stories?

Habinteg is looking for a Media and Communications Officer to join our Communications team. You will lead on our day to day interactions with the media, responding to requests from journalists and other media contacts, as well as preparing and selling in targeted media content.

You will be confident working with colleagues around the business to source information, as well as going out and about to gather stories from our tenants and networks that help us to deliver on our overarching influencing strategy. You will be organised and able to react quickly to incoming enquiries and handle competing priorities.

You will be a keen storyteller who can adapt messages for different audiences. You will also be confident using social media for stakeholder engagement and campaigning.

We have been a leading provider of affordable accessible homes for almost 50 years and now provide accessible homes and services to more than 3,300 Habinteg households. We also engage the housing sector to encourage others to plan and build accessible homes.  We champion the Lifetime Homes Standard and have developed the Wheelchair Housing Design Guide to encourage best practise in the development of new wheelchair accessible homes. Our in-house expert team, the Centre for Accessible Environments (CAE) provide consultancy, training, research and publications on building design and management to meet all user needs, including disabled and older people.

  • Closing date for the position is Tuesday 23rd April  
  • Interviews and test will take place on Monday 29th April and Wednesday 1st May
  • Successful candidates will be required to attend a second interview and test on Tuesday 6th May and Wednesday 7th May
