Join our expanding Development team at this exciting time.

Clarion Housing Group is a major housing developer with the financial strength, capacity, skills and expertise to deliver a wide range of house building and regeneration schemes. Our target is to build 50,000 new homes over the next 10 years as one of the country's top 5 house builders. In order to achieve our goal we are expanding our team and looking for ambitious, passionate and dedicated development professionals to join us on our journey.

We're looking for an exceptional Cost Planning Manager to provide professional cost plans and technical reports in order to help us realise our ambition.

Reporting directly to the Cost Planning and Estimating Director, you'll take ownership and accountability for multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered on time. You'll be responsible for identifying project risks, rewards, and constraints and preparing qualification schedules and risk registers.

We'll require you to understand scheme documents, technical reports and drawings and disseminate the information with speed and high levels of accuracy. Initially, you'll be able to measure from first principles on drawings at A3 and have the ability to predict the scheme requirements based on experience. You'll be required to present measured works in a neat and accurate fashion that can be understood by others.

As a member of the senior management team, you'll be tasked with assisting the Group in winning new work by providing accurate cost planning measures.

Your other responsibilities will include:

  • Benchmarking PQS tender returns and live projects.
  • Benchmark cost plans to schemes of similar nature and be able to describe where differences occur and the effect on the cost plan.
  • Reviewing available information and preparing cost plans for schemes of 100 to 5,000+ units.

With a solid background as cost planner or estimator in a contracting or developer organisation, you'll already have knowledge of all forms of traditional and modern methods of construction and be able to apply the correct build form to the scheme.

We'll look to you to utilise your excellent numeracy, IT and communication skills in all that you do, and have confidence in talking to staff, clients, consultants, and contractors at all levels. Ideally you will hold formal construction industry qualifications, a sound knowledge of market conditions and a good understanding of the Social Housing Environment which you will use to inform the many important decisions you will be required to take.

This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise your extensive skills and experience to really make a difference.

If you feel your attributes and skillset match our requirements, then we would love to hear from you.

In return we offer you a competitive salary and generous benefits package in a supportive environment, with plenty of scope for your career advancement and salary progression.
