Location: Coventry

Hours: 36.25

The role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Events Officer to join our team based in Coventry.

Based across the Midlands, the East and the South East, Orbit is already one of the UK's leading housing associations. We provide high quality, good value homes to over 100,000 customers across 42,000 homes. We are a big developer too, building 2,000 new homes every year. At the heart of this growth are our customers. We provide all sorts of homes for all sorts of people, and our approach empowers every one of them to grow and flourish. We make profit in order to invest into the communities we work for, playing a key role in driving UK housing growth.

The Events Officer is a key role within the Marketing and Communications team which will see you use your initiative and really go that extra mile when planning and delivering the organisation's corporate internal events, ensuring to encourage a positive culture and high engagement across the company. These events can be anything from the annual road shows to sports days and Christmas parties.

Reporting to the Senior Internal Communications Officer, you will own all aspects of the planning and delivery of each event ensuring you stay within budget and deliver on time whilst building on the success of previous events. Organising and executing full communications plans through a range of different internal channels for each event is also crucial to this role.

You may be required to travel to sites to inspect and project manage events as well as support with some external Customer / PR events so must have a full UK driving license.

We are looking for a well organised, structured and driven individual who has a good track record of working in events. You must have strong writing skills as well as good communications skills and be able to think outside the box and come with some fresh new ideas.

Why apply?

We believe that an organisation's best asset is its people, and as such we want everyone to feel that they can make a difference. We want to unlock the potential in all Orbit employees and maximise their satisfaction in the job. We have a corporate training programme, opportunities for professional development and our staff tell us we are a great organisation to work for. We offer an excellent benefits package, including private medical insurance, discounted dental insurance and gym membership, 27 days holiday entitlement and pension scheme.
