With more than 6,000 homes in the Wycombe district, including houses, flats, blocks and shops, our responsibility to keep them as safe as possible has never been more important. Our customers and people in our local communities, need the reassurance that we do everything we can to keep our properties up to scratch when it comes to compliance, so this role is crucial in making that happen.
With your organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail and expertise in compliance, you will take the lead in all things health and safety and compliance related, to ultimately make sure that our homes and business environment are totally safe.
Leading a small team, your time will be spent ensuring our compliance and safety approach on gas, electricity, fire, asbestos, water hygiene and lifts is spot on. You may have detailed knowledge in one of these areas but you’ll also be enough of an all-rounder to know the other areas too.. As well as managing our contractors, you will be part of the management team and give advice and guidance around our future work programmes to see that they are fully compliant with relevant regulations.
To be great at this role, you need to be flexible, approachable and confident, with a clear grasp of the challenges facing housing associations, particularly now. Ideally, you’ve worked in housing before, but above everything else, you’ll have an exemplary knowledge of compliance regulation and know what we need to focus on, and when. You will bring gravitas and a strong team ethos with you and colleagues and Board will have confidence in your ability to deliver.
Managing large budgets, making value for money savings and seeing the issues coming over the horizon, will also be something that colleagues will see in you.
