Circa £30,000 plus Excellent Benefits
bpha is a dynamic and ambitious 18,000 unit Housing Association based in Bedford and operating throughout the Oxford to Cambridge growth corridor. The organisation employs 400 people, has an annual turnover in excess of £120m and a development programme that will see it build around 3,000 new homes over the next five years making it one of the top 25 of developing associations.
We are currently seeking a problem solver with a grounding in modern software engineering best practice to join us as a .NET Software Engineer. Within this role you’ll be responsible for the design and development of web / mobile applications and back end services in a predominantly Microsoft environment along with full SDLC ownership (including concept, implementation, document, test, deploy and support).
The successful candidate will have some of the following skills and be willing to develop those not already gained:
- Object orientated design and development (C# preferred)
- Database design / implementation (MS SQL preferred)
- Collaborative development (short iterations / Agile, peer-review)
- Designing for security
- Scripting / automation / DevOps (eg - PowerShell, TFS, TDD / BDD, CI / CD)
- Cloud (Azure preferred)
We’re fairly open about experience - we’re much more interested in applications from individuals who can demonstrate initiative, innovation and who have the dedication and commitment to drive themselves forward. That said, it would be ideal for you to have some real-world experience of OO, database and security skills, backed up with formal training.
Our interview process will include a telephone interview and an online coding test. If you are successful at that stage and invited to come on site you will meet and work with the team and see the wider business at work.
In return we can offer a competitive salary, 28 days annual holiday (plus bank holidays), contributory pension, medical cover and the option to work from home on occasion.
The closing date for this role is 4th March 2018.
