We're now looking for an exceptional Senior Commercial Manager to take a lead role in defining and implementing the overall strategy for the Clarion Group Development Supply Chain Management & Framework Programme.
About the role
As a key member of our team, you'll collaborate with our Corporate Procurement team and our regional Development teams to maximise the efforts made to deliver potential for Clarion Housing through a high quality managed supply chain.
Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you'll act as the main interface for the delivery of the agreed strategy, attending meetings with suppliers and service providers as necessary.
We'll look to you to review existing framework agreements and individual appointments, carry out research to establish Clarion Housing's spend profile, performance assessments and business requirements across all supplier groups and regions. This will include understanding and assessing the technical performance of our supply chain partners, and designing detailed scopes of services for our future requirements.
To be successful in your role, you'll develop tools to demonstrate trends around improving the level of service and commitment resulting in increased capability, performance improvement and savings, identifying technical and regional capability/differentials. You'll also maintain an up to date framework database, meeting members regularly and issuing regular communiques regarding potential workload and performance
With extensive industry experience as a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be from a quantity surveying, project management practice or contractor background. You'll already have a mature knowledge of industry supply chain (Developer Partners, Contractors & Consultants) with a clear understanding of deliverables across framework disciplines and in particular the services required to be provided to fulfil the group's contractual obligations and mitigate operational risk.
You will be RICS or CIOB qualified, and will also have a strong knowledge of application of OJEU requirements in relation to supply chain and its application in relevant parts of group operations, in particular balancing our contractual risk profile with regulatory compliance.
You will also use your skills to support the Cost Planning and Risk & Cost Monitoring functions as operational demands require within the Commercial & Technical team. This may include from time to time the preparation of detailed cost plans, the review and assembly of contract documents, cashflow analysis and supporting our own delivery teams.
In addition to this, you will have strong organisational and project management skills, technical knowledge, excellent attention to detail and persistence.
