Sedgemoor District Council has an excellent record in the prevention of homelessness and we are in the process of recruiting specialist staff in preparation for the introduction of the Homelessness Reduction Act. The role of the Tenancy Officer is to help customers at risk of homelessness remain in their own homes, work with private landlords to secure alternative accommodation and to provide our customers with a wide range of housing and housing related advice.
We are looking for enthusiastic and committed professionals to join our hard working, flexible and supportive team. The role of Tenancy Officer is challenging but the team will continue to work together to provide a first class housing advice service and to build on our homelessness prevention work. In order to meet these challenges, you will need to be highly motivated, supportive of other team members and possess an ability to work under pressure.
The successful applicants will have experience of dealing with customers, preferably in a housing environment and the ability to work with vulnerable client groups.
