Wirral Methodist Housing Association (WMHA) has been supplying quality social housing in Wirral and Ellesmere Port for more than 50 years. Founded on a Christian commitment to providing homes and services that improve the quality of life for all residents, we now have more than 850 properties across Birkenhead, Wallasey, Hoylake and Ellesmere Port. Our portfolio comprises family houses, flats, supported accommodation, sheltered housing and shared ownership schemes, carefully selected, maintained and managed to provide the affordable housing solutions that our community needs.

Our success speaks for itself: resident satisfaction levels are extremely high; our financial base is strong; we have continued to grow, even through these times of austerity; and we are considered highly by both our funders and our peers. We are sustained by the joint principles of treating people as individuals and a firm commitment to ‘going the extra mile’. Our lean size and structure means that we are agile and responsive, whilst our local focus allows us to build small, cohesive communities and play an ongoing part in their wellbeing. To build on our successes, we are now seeking an exceptional Chief Executive who shares our passion for quality social housing that is tailored to meet local demand.

This is a hands-on role – we don’t do ivory towers. In addition to driving the strategic direction of WMHA and ensuring that our provision continues to develop and improve, you’ll meet and work with tenants, listening to and acting on their concerns and suggestions. Your operational rigour will therefore need to be complemented by strong interpersonal skills and a keen eye for detail. We’re taking it as read that you’ll have a record of senior management success in the social housing sector; we’re also looking for innovation and commercial awareness, plus the ability to appraise, mitigate and balance strategic and operational risks. If you can add to that creativity, compassion and the vigour to add value to our offering and inspire our people, we’d love to hear from you.
