Powys is a county of exceptional natural beauty. Mountains with steep sided valleys, beautiful rugged moorlands, streams and rivers that meander and flow to wide open lakes. We have a diverse cultural and rural heritage that’s seen many changes over the years.

We have fibre optic broadband linking our towns and villages; natural, sustainable energy from wind, water and solar; state of the art schools that year on year deliver some of the highest GCSE and A level grades in Wales, and through the medium of Welsh, our national language and proud identity. We have local communities that are welcoming to visitors with a strong sense of pride and belonging. It is a county to explore, live, grow and invest, a place to call home.

The council has a housing stock of 5,400 homes with ambitious plans to develop 250 new council homes over the next five years to meet the needs of the communities of Powys. In addition, we are keen to improve our housing management performance and the delivery of housing services to tenants and communities. The Housing Service is transforming itself to meet these challenges and is looking for exceptional candidates for the following positions.

We are also looking to extend the existing Affordable Housing Team, to ensure we have the capacity to deliver the council’s target of developing 250 new homes over the next 5 years. The main requirement of these key roles will be to lead on stakeholder and community consultation to identify the most appropriate mix of homes for the council’s development sites.
