Care Assistant - Old Barn, Gawcott
Hightown is a charitable housing association operating principally in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. We believe everyone should have a home and the support they need, so our aim is to build new homes and to provide excellent housing and support.
We currently manage over 5,000 homes and employ over 1,000 full and part time staff from our head office in Hemel Hempstead. We have an annual turnover of £70 million and a development programme that will deliver around 300 new affordable homes each year.
About the Role
We currently have full time opportunities for Care Assistants at our Registered Homes in Gawcott, Bucks.
4 and 5 Old Barn Close are registered care homes set in a rural village near Buckingham.
4 Old Barn Close has four male clients; three have severe learning disabilities. They also have complex needs and can present with behaviours that can challenge.
5 Old Barn Close has four older female service users who have severe learning difficulties and complex health issues such as dementia
We are looking for caring, enthusiastic people who enjoy helping others and seeing the difference their support can make to enable individuals to lead independent and fulfilling lives.
To apply, you must be able to work shifts as part of a rota system, this will include weekend and bank holiday working.
You must be able to work as part of a team to deliver an excellent service to the people we support and be flexible in your approach to work with a `can do` attitude. You will have a commitment to equality and diversity and take a positive approach to supporting people with learning disabilities.
Your role as a care assistant is to provide appropriate support to individuals, which includes personal care, assistance with eating and drinking and in developing full and meaningful lifestyles that are appropriate to their needs and wishes. As well as promoting individuality, choice and people`s rights. You are also required to undertake practical domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning.
Experience is not essential as we will give you with all the training you need to provide an exemplary service and gain new skills including, a recognised vocational qualification. You will need a caring, positive nature and enjoy working as part of a friendly, dedicated team.
