Chiltern and South Bucks District Councils have successfully embraced the challenges of modern government through taking a progressive partnership approach to offering services. We are proud of what we have achieved through our joint working and we are passionate about delivering excellent services to our customers every day and meeting the needs of our local communities.

Our staff survey results consistently tell us that our employees think this is a great place to work and that they are proud to work for the Councils. An Investor in People (IiP) Assessor commented that, "staff are incredibly positive about their work for the Council, committed to its success and have a high level of satisfaction".

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced officer to manage our housing options service across Chiltern and South Bucks. You will directly manage our team of nine Housing Options Advisers and provide guidance and support to the team in delivering housing advice and assistance to customers, investigating homeless applications and making social housing allocations via the Bucks Home Choice scheme. This will include supporting and reviewing case work. You will have a detailed understanding of the Council’s statutory housing responsibilities (including the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017) and will ensure that the Council implements the relevant policies, procedures and actions to meet these responsibilities in full.

You will have a practical and innovative approach to finding solutions to help clients to access the housing assistance that they need. This will include leading and supporting the development of schemes that deliver homelessness prevention and relief.   You will have excellent inter-personal and communications skills for dealing with clients, officers and partner agencies and a demonstrable ability to successfully lead a team in a challenging and changing environment.
