About this job
East London is one of the most lively, interesting and diverse places in the world. The East London sub-region stretches from the City of London to Havering and has some of the largest planned housing developments and initiatives in the UK. The eight east London authorities formed the East London Housing Partnership to work more effectively on sub-regional issues and help promote their interests on housing.
If all of this sounds exciting then you will be pleased to hear that we are looking for an East London Housing Partnership Manager. The post is offered as a 12 month fixed term contract or secondment opportunity as maternity cover. Your role will be to lead on a range of strategic and operational housing issues and to be responsible for managing the business of the East London Housing Partnership. This will include responsibility for delivering the sub-regional housing strategy and making policy recommendations to the Partnership Board. You will work closely with the Directors and Lead Members who are responsible for housing strategy across the sub-region.
This provides an excellent opportunity for an energetic and organised person with self initiative. You will need to work with the key players at a sub-regional level and maintain strong links with both central and regional government as well as housing and regeneration agencies.
The post will involve cross borough and cross agency working. You will need to have strong verbal and written communication skills – the role requires high levels of tact and diplomacy. You will also need to be highly organised and methodical in your approach. The post manages a small team delivering to tight deadlines.
