We are in the middle of a rapid expansion, adding to our stock of 1,150 homes through acquiring homes in Stoke, Newcastle-under-Lyme and Staffordshire Moorlands. About the role:
Working closely with the Chief Executive, Senior Management Team and Board of Directors, the Compliance Manager will be responsible for all matters relating to legal and regulatory compliance. This role will ensure the smooth running of our Board meetings, being responsible for human resources matters and handling all matters relating to GDPR compliance.
The Compliance Manager will ensure that EPIC complies with a range of legal and regulatory duties in all of its operations by developing effective monitoring and updating systems. The position also involves a significant role in human resources matters, ensuring that our staff are well trained, motivated and treated with dignity and respect. This element also involves ensuring that our health and safety systems are fully implemented and working effectively.
Who we're looking for:
Systematic, meticulous and thorough in your approach, you will have excellent project management and planning skills and the energy and ambition to support the delivery of key corporate projects. You will be confident in your approach to role, and be knowledgeable in the areas of Health and Safety and GDPR. You will hold a relevant professional qualification and be willing to pursue further study to develop within the role.
The ideal candidate will be proactive and work to the highest standards. An understanding of social housing would be beneficial, but is not essential. Candidates will have experience of working in a busy environment balancing conflicting priorities. You will be able to undertake investigations into irregularities or non compliance areas, putting your findings into written reports to the Management Team and Board with clear recommendations for improvements. You will deliver training sessions to our staff and board; and so will have excellent presentation skills.
Candidates will be expected to be flexible in their approach to work, as you will be expected to attend Board and Committee meetings, usually held outside normal office hours. You should be experienced in producing accurate records of meetings.
Candidates will be proficient with all MS Office packages and have the ability to learn and operate bespoke packages such as our Health and Safety Management Software.
A driving licence and use of your own vehicle is advantageous for site visits.
