We are looking for an Extra Care Housing Officer to join our friendly, hard-working community services team. The role is responsible for providing an excellent housing management service to customers at our new Extra Care scheme, The Birches, in Woodley. The successful candidate will need to be pro-active, approachable and passionate about promoting wellbeing and independence for our customers.

The Birches includes 60 one/two bedroom flats and brings together care provision and specialist housing facilities to support our customers.  You will be responsible for providing full housing management support, from void management, changes to tenancies, and management of arrears, to dealing with low level anti social behaviour and completing essential health and safety checks on the building. You will also be responsible for the management of the cleaning and caretaking service, working closely with colleagues based at the scheme.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working with older people and delivering housing management services.  You will have experience in coordinating activities and events, which aim to reduce social isolation and encourage community participation. You should possess excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to manage situations patiently and with sensitivity.  A basic knowledge of housing legislation and best practice is essential.

The successful applicant will require a standard DBS disclosure.
