Are you an exceptional Communications Manager looking for new challenge in 2019?

We are looking for an experienced Communications Manager to join the team at Clarion Housing Group, based in our London head office on a permanent basis.

About the role

The Communications Manager for Commercial and Charitable services will lead on all external communications for Clarion Housing relating to our charitable foundation, in-house repairs service and a number of other commercial entities. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications, this is a high profile role which presents the opportunity to work for the largest social landlord in the country and build our profile at a crucial time for the housing sector.

Key duties include:

  • Plan, develop and implement a key element of the group's corporate communications strategy- with a particular focus on the work of Clarion Futures, our charitable foundation. This will involve engaging corporate and consumer audiences, both nationally and locally, across a wide range of channels.
  • Create and implement communications campaigns to establish and increase our profile and place Clarion at the heart of the national conversation on supporting communities, social mobility and high quality customer service.
  • Develop and update our narrative and key messages for our commercial and charitable entities, so we build a consistent profile.
  • Play an important role in our press office and work towards a multimedia newsroom. Handle incoming media enquiries efficiently and carefully, which includes responding to out of hours press calls.

About you

You will come to us with significant experience in an external communications role gained either in-house or working for a communications agency. You'll be up-to-date with current affairs and politics and have a proven ability in managing a press office, including managing negative media issues. You'll have excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise a busy portfolio. Ideally you'll have experience within the housing sector, but this is not essential.
