As part of a continued focus on developing and shaping our customer services and supporting our wider property strategy, we are looking for a Capital Projects Surveyor (1 post) to join our Property Team. 

You will project manage planned projects to support the neighbourhood plan across the region, whilst ensuring the delivery of value for money and high performance. This will include procurement, contractor management, and quality control in consultation with Operations, Customer Services teams, customers, leaseholders and other key stakeholders. You will assist the Capital Projects Manager with financial planning, budget setting, and budget optimisation for your function, in addition to; providing input as required to the development of the Asset Management Strategy, investment standards, investment plan, and procurement strategy.

The post holder will ensure investment delivery is planned effectively to maximise efficiencies, whilst clearly and effectively defining the scope of work and specifications for projects inputting regional, local and specialist knowledge into the process. You will ensure that the procurement of work provides overall value for money and conforms to procedures and procurement legislation, as well as managing investment contracts, setting performance standards, minimising risk, monitoring progress, resolving issues, providing onsite quality control, payment valuations and financial management of the project, reporting as appropriate. You will provide project leadership developing a performance culture and ensuring that your delivery teams are suitably qualified and skilled to deliver, as well as acting as a key point of contact for specific projects, leading customer engagement for the project and liaising with all stakeholders. You will lead on the overall health and safety responsibility for the project ensuring compliance with legislative requirements including CDM.

To be successful, it is essential you have a demonstrable track record of managing investment programmes to a high level of performance and a thorough knowledge of building construction, building standards, planning regulations, regulatory standards, and leasehold legislation. You will have a commercial understanding and experience of performing the role of ‘principal designer’ and knowledge requirements of CDM, as well as excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels; to manage both internal and external stakeholder relationships.

You will also hold a part or fully recognised building / construction related qualification (HNC/D).
