Housing Assets and Property Team Manager
We need a committed and inspirational leader with commercial outlook who can take our asset management and property services functions to the next level.
Having combined our corporate property services functions with the housing asset management team in 2018 we are now looking to recruit permanently to the role of Team Manager to lead the new combined service. With an ambitious new build programme as well as a range of active asset management disposals and acquisitions to be delivered, the asset management role is far more than just ensuring the delivery of our compliance and council house improvement programmes. In addition we have committed to deliver our council homes improvement programme through using our in-house repairs team, so close working with the Housing Commercial Service Manager will be essential to ensure the benefits for tenants of this arrangement are maximised.
The corporate property services function manages a range of hard and soft FM functions for council office buildings and the commercial portfolio, which is currently under review. We have a clear commitment to invest in this area, and have recently recruited to a number of new posts to strengthen skills and capacity. The new team is now ready to be shaped and developed with an early priority being to launch the corporate landlord model approach to managing our property assets across the organisation.
The challenge will not stop there, as we continue to look to reduce costs and generate additional income through trading activities which generate a surplus for reinvestment. We are assembling the tools needed to deliver our ambitions with a new integrated ICT system platform, and a commitment to update our asset management strategy this financial year.
We are looking for an experienced asset management/property professional with previous experience of developing and delivering high quality services. In return we can offer a competitive salary and a £3k per annum performance bonus for 3 years, together with the option of a lease car. You will be working in a supportive management environment that will encourage delivery of the required performance standards, as well as developing the individual.
