We now have an opportunity available for a Development Manager to join us to lead the identification, procurement and delivery of an efficient, high quality and innovative development programme.

Achieving growth by developing new business opportunities and taking a lead in the appraisal and assessment of new development schemes through to Board/Director approval, you will deliver our multi-tenure development programme on time, within budget and to a high quality, by initiating and developing and maintaining positive working relationships and motivating and empowering team members.

Preparing financial appraisals for new schemes and bidding for and drawing down capital grant funding promptly and in accordance with agreed targets, you must ensure that project delivery staff within the team do the same and that development scheme administration takes place correctly and within agreed timescales. Ensuring that the development programme is audit compliant and managing the Homes England Audit process, you must procure building contracts and professional services in line with internal policy and procedure and identify and purchase suitable property or land.

With demonstrable experience of working in the Housing sector – public or private – and extensive project and programme management experience, candidates must be of graduate calibre and / or professionally qualified in a property or construction related field and demonstrate in depth knowledge of contract procurement and management. An in-depth knowledge of Homes England requirements relating to capital funding bids and programme delivery is required and you must have an excellent level of financial awareness with the ability to prepare and monitor financial appraisals.
