Staring £24,267 with annual increments to £25,463 plus an optional Call out Allowance, up to a maximum of circa £3800 based on a rota.

Full- Time, 37.5 Hours per week

We were set up in 2003 as an arm’s length management organisation (ALMO) to manage and maintain Cheltenham Borough Council’s housing stock.

As the biggest landlord in Cheltenham and a key provider of social housing, we have responsibility for managing over 5,000 homes including social and affordable rent, shared ownership and leasehold properties.

For over a decade we have been steadily increasing and improving the services we offer to tenants and leaseholders and increasingly the wider community.

We have a friendly, creative and energetic workforce of over 180 people whose passion and determination help us to go above and beyond our core function of providing a home for those who need it the most.

The role:

To work with the Electrical Supervisor and Repairs Manager to carryout electrical repairs, improvements and testing to the dwellings managed by Cheltenham Borough Homes. Under the direction of the Logistics and Procurement Officer you will also be responsible for the vehicles, plant and materials placed within your control whilst ensuring the safety of your colleagues and the public.

To undertake this role, it is essential that you possess the following:

  • Electrical qualification 18th edition wiring regulations
  • City and Guilds 2391 Testing and Inspection qualification
  • Current Full driving licence
  • The ability to undertake any training as required by the training audit.
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations
  • Basic Computer knowledge, the ability to use a PDA (Personal digital Assistant)
  • The ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of customer care and quality standards and the importance of meeting performance targets.    
  • The ability to record information (including technical data) accurately and to collate it in order to provide accurate management information.
  • Clear, oral communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build good working relationships with colleagues, customers and any external agencies.
  • Able to demonstrate flexibility and a “can do” attitude.
  • It is also desirable that you have previous experience of working in a local authority environment.
