Orbit are a leading housing provider, with a 50-year heritage, providing homes and services to more than 100,000 people across the UK. The more profit we make, the more we can invest in the communities we work for, improving services and playing a key role in driving UK housing growth.

So if you are keen to learn a specific skill, in a particular area, whilst working for one of the country's largest housing associations? Then look no further - you have come to the right place.

Our Apprenticeship Programme
In our 12 month scheme, you'll be welcomed into a team at Orbit in an entry-level role. There you'll be supported by your line manager and colleagues as you learn on the job and get the chance to gain all sorts of qualifications from NVQs in housing, to CIPDs or an AAT finance certification. Our Apprenticeship Programme will provide you with the opportunity to gain the skills, experience and qualifications you need to secure the job you want, whilst getting paid in full time employment.

As well as learning in your team, you'll have the chance to get together with all the other Apprentices and deliver your own project. The latest? …. our current Apprentices have just delivered a wellbeing programme for our employees which was a real success across the business.

Throughout 2019, Orbit are looking to employ exceptional individuals in a wide range of Apprenticeships. Here at Orbit we select the most appropriate qualifications for you to study towards and we give you the support you need. We enable people from every background to achieve their career ambitions, giving them the support, benefits, training and environment they need to thrive at work. You may have just left school, or college, or may be coming to us much later on in life, looking to build new skills or find a way into work.

The Role
Reporting to the IT Service Manager, the role of the IT Apprentice will be to assist the team in providing knowledge and skills to the wider Orbit business through the provision of technical support, customer service and process delivery. As part of the team you will gain experience of Orbit IT systems whilst enhancing your skills in the support, administration and configuration of key systems and services that are in use across the wider Orbit organisation. You will learn and expand your knowledge in order to undertake 1st and 2nd Line support queries on applications, ensuring they are rectified or delivered within stipulated timescales.

What We Offer
The scheme is a 12 month placement starting in September 2019.

During this time you will gain a Level 2 Apprenticeship and upon completion, also be able to move onto an Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship.

Although it is our intention to offer you a permanent role at the end of the scheme, Orbit cannot guarantee this, however, the experience and qualifications that you will have gained throughout your time with us will certainly equip you for success in securing a permanent role in your career.

We offer an excellent flexible benefits package including private medical insurance, discounted dental insurance, gym membership, generous holiday entitlement (starting at 27 days plus bank holidays) and pension scheme.
