Job Details

Wandle proudly supports people across south London who need a home – it is why we were formed in 1967, and why we exist today.

The Merton Family Housing Trust (Wandle’s original name) was formed by a group of local people who were concerned about homelessness and felt that is was possible to do something practical about it.

50 years on, we have grown into an organisation with over 7,000 homes across nine south London boroughs and almost 200 staff.

This is a great opportunity to join us as the organisation evolves into a housing sector leader.

You will be the face of Wandle to residents across your patch and have high levels of visibility, ensuring you build effective relationships with residents and other stakeholders.

Day to day, you will carry out regular estate inspections, monitor neighbourhood service contracts and undertake tenancy audits, ensuring compliance with tenancy agreements and recovery of properties where there is evidence of tenancy fraud.

You will lead on anti-social behaviour on your patch and deliver a speedy and focussed response to ensuring that residents feel involved and listened to, resulting in increased overall satisfaction.

About you

The ideal candidates will have considerable experience working in housing management, providing high quality services to customers. You will be someone who is resilient and uses their initiative to resolve residents’ and tenancy issues, whilst ensuring you are consistent in adhering to Wandle’s policies and procedures. In addition, you will:

  • Have an excellent understanding of customer care and quality issues

Company

Wandle helps people in south London in housing need by building and managing quality homes. We were founded in 1967 as the Merton Family Housing Trust, and have since grown into an organisation with over 7,000 homes across 9 south London boroughs.

Our role as a landlord goes way beyond bricks and mortar. Providing a safe, modern, high quality home for a person or family who truly needs it is just the start. We believe that to really help people in housing need, we need to support thriving communities.

Our Community Investment projects are helping residents to achieve their goals. Set-up and project managed in-house, and delivered by third sector organisations based in the communities where we work, our activity covers six core themes: Neighbourhoods, Volunteering, Young People, Training, Getting Online and Employment.

Wandle is a developing housing association, and we’re helping to tackle the shortage of good quality affordable housing. Our recent development programmes have provided hundreds of new homes for the people most in need of housing. We’re stepping up our development programme and have set ourselves a target to build 1,000 much needed affordable homes in south London by 2021.

We offer a great working environment right by London Bridge, a genuine team ethos, excellent training and career development opportunities, and the chance to be part of an ambitious, service-focused organisation making a big impact in south London.
