You’ll lead on our Governance and Compliance framework to help the business manage risk. Cut you in half and you will have ‘great customer experience’ at your core and be relentless at making things happen.

About the role:

You’ll be the expert on regulation, data protection, health & safety, insurance, risk, procurement, facilities, policy, legal and environmental sustainability. As the Company Secretary, you'll support the Executive Directors and Board; you'll be the Statutory Data Protection Officer, and the Anti Money Laundering Reporting Officer. As you can see, it’s a big job working across boundaries, providing leadership and working with our other Assistant Directors to make sure our strategic priorities get delivered.

What you’ll need to have:

  • Strong experience of charity and company governance and working in a regulated environment

  • Landlord compliance will be your passion

  • An in-depth understanding of data protection and how to make it meaningful for our employees

  • Risk management will be second nature to you and more than that, you’ll know how to embed it and report on it at the corporate level

  • Know-how when it comes to supporting the Trustees, Board members, Scrutiny panels and executives

  • And you’ll have no trouble presenting, communicating and advising at the highest levels

We offer:

  • Car allowance

  • 33 days annual leave

  • A performance based bonus

  • Excellent employee benefits

  • Private health care scheme

  • A flexible working environment

  • A modern office with fantastic views overlooking the River Medway

For more details, see the role profile below. If you can meet the essentials, apply directly. If you would like to have an informal 1-1 talk about the role, you can call Catherine Hardy-Smith on 01634 354 342. We look forward to hearing from you.

Additional information about the interview process

If you’re shortlisted, you’ll be invited to an initial screening interview. Screening interviews are planned for 25th March 2019. You’ll be asked questions about your technical knowledge, such as governance and compliance matters.

If you’re successful at this stage, you’ll be invited back to meet with other Assistant Directors and the Governance and Compliance team. You’ll also attend a formal interview panel, with the CEO, members of our Customer Scrutiny Panel and members of the Board. You’ll be asked to make a presentation. Interviews at this stage are planned for the week beginning 1st April 2019.
