Wokingham Borough Council has an ambitious growth agenda. Significant housing development (mostly on large strategic sites), substantial infrastructure investment and the regeneration of our town centres are all being delivered across the Borough. We have an outstanding track record of affordable housing delivery, with a significant number being developed through our council-owned companies. We are now looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Assistant Director to drive this agenda to the next level.

The successful candidate will lead committed and skilled multi-disciplinary teams covering a wide range of housing and place-shaping areas, including affordable housing delivery, economic development and our next Local Plan.  This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the future of Wokingham Borough and to make a positive difference for our residents.

You will be an exceptional leader and collaborator; someone who has credibility and drive, as well as, a proven track record of delivering strategic change and improvement. You will have an in-depth knowledge of the national housing landscape, legislative framework and policy agenda, combined with business acumen, entrepreneurial flair and the ability to innovate.
