This role will work with the Director of Central Customer Services to develop the Home Ownership and Service Charges function to ensure a sustainable, dynamic and successful team that is at the forefront of the sector.

The role
You will be accountable for the setting of rents and service charges for the whole property portfolio and ensure that service charges and sinking funds are set accurately, in compliance with legislation, best practice and our legal agreements across the property portfolio. Leading the delivery of all central homeowner services including Right to Buy/Right to Acquire, lease extensions, lease permissions towards best in industry performance and accountable for compliance with statutory consultation for major works; ensure statute and best practice are followed to enable maximum recovery of costs. You will provide expert advice to the business on consultations for complex procurement of contracts as well as compliance with statutory and contractual obligations to ensure the strategic objectives of the organisation are compliant with legal and best practice.

Leading the team to deliver an efficient end to end customer service for relevant home ownership and service charge enquiries you will take accountability for processes that will ensure maximum recovery of all income from service charges and drive innovation to increase income for the business through service charges or central homeowner activities.

You will lead on implementing and embedding change to ensure the service is an innovative leader in the field.
Whilst working corporately and cross-functionally to improve performance and provide leadership and management of the home ownership and service charge teams across a dispersed geography; ensuring optimum resourcing and development of colleagues and driving high performance.

Skills and experience you need
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level and / or have experience relevant to the role. You may have a relevant professional qualification / membership of sector or trade bodies. You will have experience of working at a senior level within a similar or equivalent role and strong leadership skills to manage your team across a dispersed geography.

You will have a strong sense of stakeholder awareness and be able to build quality relationships and rapport leading the delivery of central homeowner services. Technically you will be IT literate, comfortable with MS programmes and able to interpret financial and systems data. A natural multitasker with a can-do attitude you will possess the ability to translate strategic plans into operational direction for your team

The ability to travel nationally and to meet external commitments is essential.

You may have experience of the following: Community Investment, Social Investment, Community Development, Property Management, Housing Association and Social Housing.
