Keeping the business secure from cyber security threats. That’s when it hits home

As an IS team we are setting out to be more digitally focussed, using the latest technologies, whilst ensuring that our customers are at the heart of everything we do. Our strategy is set, our direction is clear. What comes next is to apply our skills and experience through brilliant team work to innovate, design, and implement systems that deliver real business value.

We’ve got an excellent team foundation to build upon as our technical portfolio develops and expands; that’s where you come in.

Joining the Cyber Security team you will help protect all of our information assets, with a scalable defence to cyber-attacks – essentially keeping us safe from the cyber baddies! You will play your part as we expand our security team, by support the delivery of our information and cyber security strategy. You need to be a techie and have the battle scars to prove it! As one of our security specialists you’ll be responsible for the constant improvement of our cyber defence capability, while helping to maintain our ISO 27001 certification and remain compliant with current legislation. You’ll make technical recommendations, have input into the security strategy as well as review and monitoring every aspect of Home Group’s technical portfolio (on-premise and cloud). Let’s face it, we are looking for a techie that loves security….

About our team
You’ll be working in a team, who are passionate about keeping the business safe!  You’ll be working for Si, our Head of Service Management and Security. He’s a massive sports fan, loves to play guitar (badly) but isn’t particularly good at reading subtle hints (just tell it to him straight).

Working hours
Here at Home Group we believe flexibility works both ways. Our focus is on getting the job done, not your working hours! It’s important to us that you’re in the office so we can work collaboratively and share best practices amongst the team. However there will be times, when you might work from home to concentrate on a particular piece of work. Throughout it’s the team’s unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life, be it your child’s school play, your partner’s graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered. You can elect to fit these around your working day or use your flexi to take the time off.

About you
You’re a techie who wants to constantly learn and develop your skills. We need you to have worked in a Cyber security environment before, but don’t worry, we won’t drop you in the deep end, we’ll help to you understand how things work here at Home Group!

It would be great if you had the right certificates, however we appreciate that you might have some great transferrable skills and the desire to work towards getting certified. Having a degree in the security field, CCNA, CISSP or anything in between would be a definite advantage!

Amongst some of the key skills we are looking for are experience in multiple security principles and disciplines including but not limited to – vulnerability scanning, IDP, SIEM, WAF, patch management. You will know all about cloud and website security, and have a proven track record in managing an enterprise wide mobile estate...

We also need you to have good knowledge of Microsoft technologies (because that’s what we use around here!)
The important stuff isn’t just technical, you have a real passion for information and cyber security. You really do love this stuff and want to make a difference! You’re also pretty awesome at talking to the non-techy folk about all things cyber security in layman’s terms.

Here at Home Group we have invested heavily in our future and use current and up to date equipment. You’ll be issued with the latest kit, which could include a Surface Pro and mobile.

So if you want do awesome things in a brilliant team and work for an organisation that really makes a difference… join us at Home Group.

Benefits?
There’s lots!  Including: competitive salaries, 25 days paid holiday a year rising by 1 day per year up to 30 days, with the ability to purchase an extra 5 days, a contributory occupational money-purchase pension scheme with life assurance and long term disability insurance, salary sacrifice schemes including cycle, car, technology, heavily discounted AA membership, gyms and savings on high street stores, holidays and restaurants amongst many others.
