Our Environmental Service team works with residents to deliver great housing services to make Lewisham safer, cleaner and greener. As a Chargehand Caretaker, you will play an important role in making our housing estates great places to live.

Your main duties will include:

  • Providing support in Supervising and co-ordinating a team of Caretakers and Housing Estate Cleaners, deputising for Supervisor when needed.

  • Responsibility for ensuring sweeping and cleaning takes place inside and outside to standard.

  • Reporting defects and requesting repairs for communal areas

  • Reporting welfare concerns and anti-social behaviour.

This is what we are looking for:

 Experience of working in caretaking, cleaning or refuse removal
 Ability to lead and motivate a team
 Good communication skills
 Ability to drive and hold a full clean UK drivers licence.

You will be joining the biggest team in Lewisham Homes and could be working in any area of our management areas; Deptford, New Cross, Brockley, Lewisham, Blackheath, Catford, Sydenham, Forest Hill and Honor Oak so you should be happy to travel to these areas. 

We currently have vacancies for two full-time roles available and all roles require a full UK driving licence.
